WOW:)

Oh how I do love life.  Life is good, God is better!

1.    Budapest home 2 weeks already…and I get back into my apartment today.  A new family arrived while I was away so they have been staying there which worked out great. 
2.    I have some great friends here – so willing to take me in, feed, love, and encourage me.  Thank you!
3.    I was going to turn right on a red light yesterday – then I remembered where I was.  You don’t do that here in Hungary.
4.    Today?...today I am taking a quick trip to Vienna, bringing a colleague to pick up his ‘new’ car.  Quick trip to Vienna – WOW.  Amazing.  Sitting in Starbucks right now in ViennaJ.  Yes, I do love life.
5.    Valentine’s and Ash Wednesday all on the same day.  Doing the ’40 Acts’ for Lent…https://40acts.org.uk and then Easter is April 1st – no joke!  Crazy.
6.    Big basketball tournament this weekend at the high school.  Yes, I have the Bulldog mascot and yes; he is clean and ready (as he’ll ever be).

So it begins...Ethiopia

New blogger here.  Not sure what I'm doing but I have some amazing people in my life that seem interested in 'following' me during my adventures this summer.  The name of this blog (letusgive) may seem odd but hopefully it will become clear through my subsequent posts - to me as I write it and also to those that read!  Here we go...together! Ethiopia...that is the place I am going for 5 weeks starting June 17th.  I cannot wait and I must admit I'm a bit nervous as well!  Have I been there before?  Yes...once in 2005 for 2 weeks and once in 2007 for 3 weeks.  The 3 week trip was to teach English to high school students.  I fell in love with their beautiful faces, smiles and ambition to learn.  I'm definitely looking forward to seeing them again! Thank you Momma

December 31, 2015 Life is good, God is waaaay better.   I’m starting with that statement this time – I am reassured of that each day – really each hour these past couple of days.   People – family, friends, folks on the street or in the store have all been incredible.   People know – they ‘sense’ hurt and respond appropriately.   That is so very treasured.   My Momma died on Tuesday, December 29th at 13:49 PST.   Dad, Phyllis, Bob via FaceTime, Susan, Nathan, Jesse and I were all there…holding her hand, stroking her arm, leg, shoulder, forehead, making sure she could ‘feel’ us and hoping she could hear us.   I whispered to her a lot that day…the nurses would kind of talk loudly to her as they swabbed out her mouth or did some routine on her.   I couldn’t do that – I wanted to be gentle with my Momma…loud noises would startle her at home recently.   She would wake up and say ‘what was that’…I didn’t want her startled.   I wanted her t...

2 and 2017:)

New year…new me?   Probably not to be totally honest but I do like how 2017 is going so far. I have been living in Hungary for two years.   Now who would have ever believed that when I took off from my amazing company and job of 27 years back in November 2013 that I would have lived six months in Poland, spent six months back in U.S. and then moved to Hungary for two years but planning/hoping on three!? I’m here to tell you – I love how life moves along.   And again to be totally honest, I love moving along with it.
