'I don't know' translating into good change....(?)

I DON'T KNOW

Do you ever play Jeopardy with Alexa?  I must admit I’m not that good at it. However, I do NOT like to answer ‘I don’t know’. When I do, it makes me angry actually but I guess I am the one that could improve my trivia knowledge so it’s within my control. Up to me...

But I’ll tell you what—control is what most humans want. The instinct is so strong...even toddlers want to ‘control’ their world...their toys, the food they eat and nap times (preferably no nap) etc.

I feel like we are NOT in control of this COVID-19 — China may be coming out of it but I don’t think ‘the world’ has control of it.  Leaders are not big fans of ‘I don’t know’ either. Have you heard any leader say those words?  Variations perhaps such as ‘not certain at this time’ or ‘yet to be determined’, but we like CONTROL!  And even more, most humans take comfort in the fact that somebody is in control.

Unsettling times and yet..I find myself fascinated with what is to come!  Actually quite curious what our work, education economy, and gatherings will be like in say...a year from now?    After 9/11 the mantra was ‘never forget’.  That has been said about the Holocaust as well. Honestly...?  That’s difficult. We are resilient people and we generally want to move forward. Which we can and more than likely even should. But let’s move forward changed.   That is what growing, maturing and becoming ‘older and wiser’ is all about. Taking ALL the experiences of life (good, bad, joyful and hurtful experiences) and wringing them dry of all they can teach us to be better, stronger, wiser beings overall. We cannot be the same—changed people are OK.

In Spain I have seen online where they all stop each night and clap for health care workers out on their balconies. That’s beautiful!  My guess is—it won’t last forever. But.. let’s take this WORLD WIDE pandemic and learn from it in our homes, cities, states/countries and world. Let’s wring these experiences dry of learning, seeking God, seeking good and being compassionate.

I am not real comfortable in saying it but I can agree to say ‘I don’t know’ about this whole crisis right now.  So...my prayer and hope for the future is to see good change in all of us. I’m excited to see good change in and around this small world we live in..I'm .looking forward to being able to say—I KNOW this pandemic has changed our world —- FOR GOOD.

And I can’t sign off before I say this (of course)...Life is good (even now!) but God is waaaaay better. Agreed?
